Harvard Class Album, Wine Glasses and ‘Tatiana the Temptress’

Whew!  We are stuck on a cold and rainy weather loop again!  I thought April showers would bring May flowers… but this year it is bringing more rain.  Hopefully, the sun will shine bright with Mother’s Day this weekend and graduations happening this month.

Speaking of graduations… I’m sure your are all aware that Harvard’s graduation is May 29th this year!  Harvard is the oldest higher education institution in the United States.   John Harvard, a clergyman, donated the funds that helped establish the college in 1636.  At the time, Cambridge did not exist.  Harvard was founded in New Towne, Massachusetts Bay Colony, which was renamed Cambridge in 1638.  Harvard became a university in the late 18th century when it began granting graduate degrees.

And I’m sure many of you might find it delightful to be able to sit down and peruse a 1924 Harvard class album [see photo] to check out the graduates from 101 years ago.

While you are perusing the graduates, how apropos would it be to toast the graduates in Harvard wine glasses?  We have two in excellent condition [see photo].  They are of the finest quality, meeting Harvard’s exacting standards, complete with the school crest on the front.

Then, we have ‘Tatiana the Temptress’ [see photo].  We’ve done a little research on ‘Tatiana the Temptress’.  We believe she was a student at Radcliffe and was very popular there.  To raise some extra spending money, she posed for Harvard students who were so inclined to create art.  This original pastel, newly framed, is available for acquisition for your nude art collection.  In particular, this is a tasteful nude, something you wouldn’t mind showing your wife and mother.  And perhaps… you might even know who ‘Tatiana the Temptress’ is…
