Handmade Vintage Quilt & Beach Art
This Memorial Day weekend honors those who have fallen while serving in the branches of the United States Military. We take time to mourn those brave men and women, appreciating their sacrifice. It became an official federal holiday in 1971. Even though the weekend has a solemn nature, it also marks the unofficial start of summer.
I would like to highlight some items that have been previously featured, but are perfect for this upcoming summer season.
This handmade, vintage quilt is great for the warmer temperatures of summer. We estimate it was made in the 1950’s. It is signed and measures 8 feet by 6 plus feet. The quilt is in very good, and usable, condition, which is unusual for a quilt of this age. Come in and see for yourself how beautiful it is!

The second piece is a very unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art. It was created by a man who collected items on a beach nearby his New Jersey home. These items included a canvas and beach sand that he glued to the canvas. The other items attached are aesthetically pleasing in shades of green, blues and white. Upon closer inspection, these colors come from refuse that had washed up on the beach. It is perfect in a home of someone who is concerned about the environment and appreciates the creative use of unconventional materials.
